We are looking for a smart, motivated attorney to provide legal support for our rapidly growing and evolving transportation businesses. Our goal is to exceed the expectations of all our customers by ensuring that their orders-no matter how large or small-are delivered where and when they are needed, as quickly, accurately, and cost effectively as possible. To meet this goal, Amazon is continually striving to innovate and provide best-in-class service through the introduction of pioneering new products and services. This role will support our transportation business teams as they work to better serve our customers.
In this corporate counsel role, you will:
• Be an integral part of the business teams you support.
• Serve as counsel on strategic commercial deals and regulatory matters, resolving issues that arise in commercial relationships, and handling pre-litigation disputes and inquiries.
• Help the business teams develop programs and tools to continually improve the experience of our transportation stakeholders.
• Develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways.
• Build processes that address risk and provide us with the flexibility and freedom to move quickly.
As you will be working with central business teams who are developing products and technology that will be leveraged globally, some travel, domestic and international, will be required.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• JD or international equivalent with strong academic credentials and membership in one state bar
• 5+ years as a practicing attorney, with at least 2 years at a law firm, corporation, military, or similar experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• A mix of corporate law firm and in-house experience
• Ability to demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations
• Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
• Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through, and meet deadlines
• Strong written and oral communication skills
