The specific job functions are focused on ensuring inventory valuation accuracy by performing analysis of standard costs, perpetual inventory records, labor reporting, work orders and project cost accounts. Major Job Functions: * Monitor, analyze and report on variances from the production process including labor utilization and efficiency, purchase price, and material usage and scrap, and recommend improvements to the process. * Review accuracy of routings, bill of materials, general ledger mapping, and update standard costs as appropriate. * Analyze and track all inventory account balances from the perpetual system and reconcile with the general ledger system. Report and correct any material differences. * Review of WIP to ensure proper valuation and validity of work order base. * Review work orders for accuracy of issue and receipt of materials. Monitor and maintain work order close process within the ERP system. * Develop annual re-evaluation of labor and overhead rates, product standard cost and analyze potential changes. * Manage the annual physical inventory plan, count, and analysis. * Approve journal entries completed by Cost Accountant. * Process Journal entries for Inventory Capital variance. * Report on Scrap and Obsolete inventory and explain material variance. * Prepare applicable cost schedules for internal management pack (.: utilization, efficiency, inventory dashboard, ad-hoc reports, and schedules). * Complete business ethics and professional training as appropriate. SPECIFICATIONS: BS Accounting and a minimum of five years' experience in cost accounting. CPA and/or CMA designation is a plus. Experience with JD Edwards ERP systems is desirable. Strong Excel and communication. Must have excellent written and verbal skills, and an open attitude for continuous improvement. Ability to perform under stress and meet guidelines, to work cooperatively and respectfully with others, to work (when necessary) overtime and weekends, to come to work promptly and regularly, and the ability to take and follow orders is essential.
