ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY: The Unit Based Educator is responsible for assisting with the onboarding new hires onto the unit as well as the continued necessary education provided to staff on the unit throughout the year. Such responsibilities encompass assigning preceptors to new hires and overseeing the onboarding process relative to orientation packets and pathways as well as coordinating orientation progress meetings with new hires, preceptors and nursing leadership. Nurse educators also play a key role in annual competency validation on all units and assisting to ensure the educational foundation is consistent with successful onboarding and regulatory requirements. The Unit Based Educator retains dotted line reporting to the Director of Education. Unit Based Educator also supports an organizational culture for safety and Service Excellence and practices the Service Excellence standards to all customer groups.
