DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEssential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Meet with clients to gather tax information as needed, prepare returns on computer and review completed returns for accuracy. Prepare Forms 1040, 1120, 1065, 1041 (and amended versions when required) as well as prominent schedules including but not limited to A's, B's, C's, E's, F's, and K-1's. Import or input data to tax preparation trust, partnership and corporation tax returns and input to tax preparation (including electronically) federal, state, and local tax documents by preparing property tax returns, state pages, and federal, state, and municipal returns, extensions, and quarterly payments. Scanning tax files after completion of and verify tax forms completed by clients to ensure their proper research and seek the advice of Enrolled Agents when confronted with challenging or unusual tax appropriate materials regarding yearly tax tables, instructions, and forms to accurately calculate taxes for and prepare income tax forms for businesses and individuals in preparation for yearly closely with clients to obtain personal information regarding potential deductions, educational grants, or clients of important paperwork and documentation needed to complete tax forms with clients and address their question and concerns regarding tax forms and financial statements, expenses, and previous tax returns to identify the best strategy for completing future other duties and special projects as assigned. SKILLS AND ABILITIESTo perform this job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities. Knowledge of state and federal tax individual, corporate, partnership, and trust/estate forms and how to prepare US income tax forms accurately to read and understand technical tax forms and use of computer and Excel and Word programs, as well as familiarity with Intuit, Drake and other reputable tax software of basic accounting standards and familiarity with verbal and written communication analytical attention to confidentiality. Professional experience working with confidential and sensitive personal information. QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEBachelor's Degree in Accounting; at least two years' experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
