DescriptionDelta Dental of Michigan, with its affiliates in Arkansas, Indiana, Kentucky, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee collectively are among the largest dental plan administrators in the nation. We are looking for a highly talented and motivated undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree in Accounting or related field. This internship will start Spring Semester Job Responsibilities: Assists in maintaining department processes, procedures, and templates. Supports coordination of internal and external activities including scheduling meetings, capturing and reporting meeting minutes, tracking requests and responses, proofreading reports, assistance with board material creation and review, issue monitoring and reporting, and project tracking. Assists in assigned duties for conducting internal audits, including planning, data collection, interviewing, observing and testing, process evaluation, developing conclusions, and providing feedback on corrective action plans. Assists with investigations and assessments of compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and guidelines, client and payer contracts, internal policies, procedures, and practices. Participates in identifying, verifying, documenting and communicating risk. Maintains documents and records according to the corporate record retention policies, best practices, and departmental standards. Participates in the evaluation and improvement of sampling methods and composition, audit criteria and procedures, documentation, manuals, and records and assists in the tracking and reporting of departmental dashboard elements. Supports the internal audit analysis team by providing claims accuracy and client audit assistance, front end audit administration, problem initiation, and compilation of dashboard other related assigned duties as necessary to complete the Primary Job Responsibilities as described requires some level of college to have been completed, and must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program. Experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, quality monitoring, risk management, or operations preferred. Position requires basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications; effective verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and analytical skills; and the ability to work independently and as part of a qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or veteran status.
