Providence is currently searching for an Associate and Senior Associate for our Valuation & Strategic Analysis Team.

The roles of the Associate and Senior Associate on the Valuation and Strategic Analysis (VSA) team provides an excellent opportunity for a finance professional to see all facets of the private equity industry. As a member of the VSA team, one of your primary responsibilities will be to assist with the quarterly valuation of Providence's portfolio companies, in accordance with ASC 820. You will also work with all other teams within the company, assisting with various projects. Some of these projects include fund performance analysis, ad hoc LP requests, fundraising, and benchmarking.


You will be responsible for achieving the following goals:

  • Assisting with valuation analysis on a wide range of public and private entities within various industries using accepted and relevant approaches and theory
  • Preparing valuation-related materials for financial reporting and fundraising purposes
  • Performing in-depth industry and market research
  • Working in conjunction with deal teams to gather financial information data pertinent to the portfolio companies
  • Responding to investor and due diligence requests
  • Creating ad hoc reports for various departments throughout the firm
  • Assisting in preparing and presenting the results of each analysis in a clear and concise manner


The successful candidate will have an exceptional track record and reputation. Given the significant responsibilities of this position, the top candidate will be a mature, experienced individual. In addition, the successful candidate should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics
  • CFA, MBA, or other advanced degree preferred
  • For Associate level; 1 - 2 years' experience, preferably in a valuation role
  • For Senior Associate level; 2 - 3 years' experience, preferable in a valuation role
  • Strong analytical, comprehension, and problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with OPM / contingent claims analyses is a plus
  • Ability to master new tasks quickly
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments, and manage rapidly changing assignments in a team environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to outstanding results
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience coordinating with various teams in investment management (. tax, accounting, compliance, etc.)
