To qualify for this role, you must have advanced technical knowledge in a relevant area of electrical engineering and an understanding of the impact of this work on other areas of the organization. In addition, you must demonstrate organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. PESD is responsible for design engineering including the following areas:Power System Design - Power System Noise, System Simulation and Modeling, Solid State Transmitters, Tube Transmitters, High Voltage Design, Power Sources, GeneratorsPower Conversion - AC/DC, DC/DC and DC/AC, Linear and Switching Supplies, Power Factor Correction (PFC), Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS), Resonant Circuits, Synchronization, Noise ControlsPower Distribution - Ground, Air, Shipboard, and Space, Power Generation, Line Voltage, High Current, Low Voltage, Micro-Power, DC, AC, Multi-Phase Power Control, Fault Reporting, Isolation, Protection Circuits, Redundant SystemsPower Sub-System Design - Filters, Harmonic Control, EMI, Circuit Simulation, Magnetics, Protective Relay Systems, Short Circuit and Stress AnalysesControl Systems Servo Control Systems, Motor/Power/Process Control, Digital Feedback Systems, Command Generation, Inertial Stabilization, Navigation AlgorithmsResponsibilities to Anticipate:Manage a section of 15 to 20 engineersResource and manpower planningCareer development of employeesPerformance and appraisal evaluationsDeveloping training curricula, technical mentoring, and leadership skill developmentTechnical problem solvingProject leadership, proposal writing, pursuing new business, managing budgets and schedules as the leader of development teams, and leading organizational closely with other section managers, the department manager, the program management office, senior managers, senior staff engineers, systems engineers, and other development team You Must Have:Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)10+ years of experience in Power System Development & DesignExperience leading functional or cross-disciplinary teams to meet organizational goals and project needsExperience managing cost and scheduleThe ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance. . citizenship is required as only . citizens are eligible for a security clearance RMDPowerQualifications We Value:Experience in line management or Integrated Product Team leadershipExperience with DoD contract proposal activities and bidding processExperience with manpower planning and staffing forecastsExperience developing hardware in a DoD environmentKnowledge of modeling and simulation tools such as Saber, PSpice, LTSpice, or similarExperience leading technical teams in Power System development and/or radar developmentsExperience generating technical documentation and reportsKnowledge of test and production methods for electronics/power system componentsExperience interfacing with procurement and manufacturing as well as external suppliers to ensure proper implementation of product designsExisting security clearanceExcellent written and verbal communicationExperience in technical writing, proposal writing, and oral presentationsWhat We Offer:Whether youre just starting out on your career journey or are an experienced professional, we offer a robust total rewards package that goes above and beyond with compensation; healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; career development and recognition programs.
