The Walt Disney World Resort invites you to be our Guest and explore Culinary and Dishwasher/Steward roles opportunities at our upcoming Job Fair on Monday, October 25, 2021 and Tuesday, October 26, 2021 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM. Come meet our Recruitment Team to learn more about our dynamic teams that provide unparalleled dining experiences!
This event is open to the public and will focus on finding talent for our Culinary and Dishwasher/Steward roles. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to apply and interview on site. Some candidates may even be hired on-the-spot!

$1,500 New Hire Bonus Incentive for majority of Culinary roles (Chef Assistant and Cook 1)

*$1,500 Hiring Bonus (First payment after 90 days = $375 and Second payment after 150 days = $1125)

To be eligible for the sign-on bonus, cast members must be in the position continuously for at least 90 days after hire and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at time of payment. A cast member is hired after the successful completion of Disney Traditions or one full day of employment. To be eligible for an incentive bonus after 150 days, cast members must remain employed in the position continuously for at least 150 days and be employed by The Walt Disney Company at the time of payment. Payments will be made approximately two weeks after the 90 and 150-day milestones, respectively. Bonus payments are subject to applicable taxes and other legal withholding. Disputes concerning eligibility to a bonus payment shall be resolved by Walt Disney World Recruitment in its sole and absolute discretion. The incentives offered herein are subject to change at any time, with or without notice. Cast Members hired prior to September 12, 2021 or after January 1, 2022 will not be eligible for this incentive award.

Culinary Responsibilities
The Walt Disney World® Resort is searching for talented Cooks who are looking to push themselves to the next level in their career with our culinary team.

  • Help generate dishes from scratch for a variety of locations throughout property from quick service to fine dining

Dishwasher/Steward Responsibilities
Dishwasher/Stewards are a key part of the kitchen and are responsible for working in kitchen areas using large dish machines, manually washing pots, pans, stocking clean dishes, glassware and silverware. Additional responsibilities include heavy lifting, working with chemicals, emptying trashcans and mopping.

  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and Guest areas and corridors
  • Cast Members will handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Work around food products including but not limited to beef, pork, poultry, fish, shellfish, gluten, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, egg, and dairy products
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required

Basic Qualifications :
Culinary Basic Qualifications

  • Show strong attention-to-detail, organization, retention and problem-solving skills even while working under a sense of urgency and with quality ingredients
  • Ability to operate effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly to ensure smooth service operations and quality service
  • Proven knowledge of HACCP, proper food handling techniques, temperatures and food safety
  • Must have superior culinary, food production and high standards of excellence, including the ability to work cleanly, safely and efficiently
  • Possess proficiency in all stations of the line, including grill and sauté, as well as skills with knives, tools and kitchen equipment
  • Demonstrates the ability to follow recipes and an understanding of recipe conversion
  • Awareness of modern and classical cooking, including specialized culinary techniques and measurements, and possess the ability to propose menu items
  • Knowledge of basic butchering, food allergies, seasonal ingredients and menus
  • Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending twisting, and kneeling
  • Most advanced roles require a minimum 3 years of line cook experience or culinary certification plus 2 years of line cook experience at a table service establishment - Fine Dining experience is a plus, but not required
  • No experience required for entry-level roles
  • Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
  • Cast Members will be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Dishwasher/Steward Basic Qualifications

  • Basic communication skills (able to positively talk with Guest, Cast Members and leadership)
  • Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling
  • Must be at least 18 years of age to be considered for this role

Preferred Qualifications:
Culinary Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual preferred
  • ..P. (food safety training) certified

Dishwasher/Steward Preferred Qualifications

  • Six (6) months of previous food and beverage dishwasher/ steward experience
  • Bilingual preferred

SCHEDULE AVAILABILITY:
Our Theme Parks and Resort Hotels operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and some shifts may start as early as 5:00am while some may end as late as 3:00am, 4:00am or 5:00am. Please note that the principles of seniority are used to schedule all roles.
